Mio nodded her thanks, happy to have the help. Even with one arm around Rio's shoulders and the other using her axe for support, it was somewhat difficult to bypass the rubble in the entranceway, but they managed without too much trouble.
Once in the equipment room with the others, she applied varying pressures to her leg to gauge its status. There was still pain, but already she would be able to hobble around quickly enough. She might not have the power of a dedicated vieda alchemist like Elieana-neesan, but Honorea's healing abilities were a marvel nonetheless.
Mio disentangled herself from Rio, indicating that she could make it on her own for now. Looking at the floor, she could see the axe she had dislodged from one of the statues peeking up above the water. In her dejected mood, all of her earlier enthusiasm for the equipment seemed to have vanished, but hearing (if not seeing) Rio dispatch the lizard-thing with such ease, it also seemed like a bad idea to leave everything here. And there was still the gems on the armor pieces, which had seemed somehow different than anything on the weapons...
She couldn't figure any of it out. "Well, you all take what you like--not like I did anything to help. I'll take up the rear, and try not to hold everyone back. I think I should be able to walk again before too long."
Yet another thing she had her mother to thank for: the resilient, quick-to-heal body of the ice goddess lineage. She chuckled at the thought, despite her gloominess--she was always ribbing her father that she hadn't inherited anything worthwhile from him. Marrying a four-winged immortal kanji mage had really been a step down for her mother.

The armor and remaining weapons lay scattered about the remains of the statues which had been cleaved and toppled during the beast's rampage. All were accessible enough such that the party wouldn't have to waste much time on collecting them. Closest to Honorea were the dagger, the bow and the quiver of arrows. Rio had the cape and gloves within reach. The axe lay near Mio's feet, which was fortunate since weapons of that size tend to demand someone conditioned to carry their weight.
"...Let's gather anything from the statues and go."
Unaliari scanned the waters around her. The closest items to her were the breastplate and the boots. She picked them up, flinging the larger piece of armor over her back to better carry it -- the alchemist figured that no one would want to sort out, distribute and don their prizes in the middle of this room. she glanced back over her shoulder as she adjusted the weight of the plate. The water was settling for the moment.
I'll take up the rear, and try not to hold everyone back..."
"Somehow, I don't think you should be the one to bring up the rear."
Unaliari said this with a smile to make sure the girl understood she wasn't referring to her as a hindrance to the group. She then turned her attention to keeping watch while waiting for the others to finish up in the room.

Honorea quickly scooped up the bow and quiver of arrows. She then grabbed the dagger.
"Anyone want this? I don't mind holding onto it but if anyone's itching for a(nother) dagger here's your chance before I claim it."
She waited for responses as she moved about the room.
"Are we done here? I don't have a good feeling about remaining stationary. Which direction now?"

Rio looked down and saw that he was near the gloves and cape. He threw both of them on quickly.
"Let's get out of here. I'll lead."
Rio had is new sword firmly in hand. He walked through the door. Just after he stepped through the threshold he came running back into the room screaming. He would wait just a couple of seconds for the group to react and then bust out laughing.
"I'm just kidding."
Rio's goal was to lift everyone's spirit. That was a rough fight. After, probably getting yelled at by everyone, Rio would once again take the front and head through the door.

Everyone else having retrieved their choices, Mio lifted the axe from the water. It was quite a bit smaller than her giant waraxe, more like a proper, one-handed battleaxe. She secured it to her pack and began to walk forward after Rio, still leaning heavily on her waraxe. Seconds later, he came screaming back into the room. Mio halted, a sudden surge of adrenaline disintegrating her sullen exhaustion. She was ready to face whatever was coming next when Rio burst out laughing.
The glare she shot him was murderous. She briefly considered that his skull would be a good practice target for her new axe.
"Rio, you had better wipe that grin off your face and keep moving, because if I hobble over there and catch up to you, I'm not going to be the only cripple in the party."

Unaliari perked up at the offering of the dagger.
"Well, if you're willing to part with it..."
She considered the two items she'd picked up on her way out. The breastplate seemed too bulky for a delicate elf. She held up the boots with a grin.
"I'll trade ya!"
Unaliari made her way over to Honorea just as Rio came running back in yelling. She froze, her eyes wide and on him. Then he laughed. The alchemist still stared.
"Rio, you had better wipe that grin off your face and keep moving, because if I hobble over there and catch up to you, I'm not going to be the only cripple in the party."
Unaliari blinked as the initial blinding burst of adrenaline diffused through her circulation. She laughed weakly and in relief, putting a hand to her forehead.
"Geez..."
The next hall they walked into was filled with the sounds of water dripping. The floor was damp, but not overwhelmingly slick. A room broke off to the right some ways down. A set of stairs led down into a dim circular room. The hall continued ahead of that before breaking off into a "T".
------ Honorea, if you're willing to trade, we'll just assume that our characters have exchanged weapons. We don't have to stumble over that little action.

Despite her limp, Mio managed to keep pace with the others, at least while they moved at an easy clip. Walking in the back of the group, she stared questioningly at the gems on Rio's newly-acquired gloves, but didn't voice any concerns to the others.
Upon scouting their new options down the hall, she hovered over Rio's shoulder as he updated the map. "I'm kind of curious to see what's down these stairs, if only for a change of pace. Besides, it saves us from having to take another 'T' for now."
