Unaliari made a dash for the fallen elf. Honorea was easy to scoop up partially because of the nature of elven build and partially because of the alchemist's masculine tendencies. The moths (those that had made it in -- a portion were following the entrancing light down the hall) were moving in overhead. They fluttered around the reptilian monster, who at first seemed completely caught off guard. He was used to obedience in his domain, though the obedience may have simply stemmed from no other creature bothering to attempt communication with his "subjects". It was apparent that beyond being a nuisance, the moths' sleep-inducing haze was beginning to have effect. The creature swung his arm, batting them away while barking unintelligible orders to them. The moths in turn hesitated, then scattered toward the ceiling when water began flinging from the flailing arms. They perched upon the walls, a few wings slowly flexing here and there. This day's events had left them perplexed.
Then came the rumble from the doorway, followed by exploding boulders. Unaliari had been running back towards the other half of the party, but was forced to quickly dart off course to avoid the projectiles. She crouched down in the far left corner (if facing the room from the doorway) and set Honorea down. She looked back toward the entrance, Mio's cry of pain having carried out into the large room, but was quickly forced to shake her head and return her attention towards their own problem at hand.
"Stay still."
It wasn't because of the wound that Unaliari said this, though there was no time to really explain. The alchemist's stare fixed on the reptile. As far as Honorea could see, nothing had changed. The beast snarled and began looking around, though it did not advance. It's gaze seemed to pass right over them. But, it was studying the water, tracing every ripple to its source. Fortunately, the recent explosion had created enough disturbance to conceal the two for now.

Honorea had no choice.
She saw the creatures vision had somehow passed over them. She chose to stay still so as not to disturb the water and cause the creature to spot them.
She only hoped that Mio was alright, and that Rio as able to help Mio where he could, and then get to them as quickly as possible.

Rio got back to Mio just in time for the boulders to fall on top of her. Luckily he was able to jump out of the way just in time. He stood up but almost fell right back down because of the moths.
He shook off what he could of the scales and looked for Mio. Clearly she was trapped and unfortunately he couldn't take the rock off of her. Anything in his book that could help was too big to fit in this small of a space.
"I know you're in pain, but nothing is attacking you at the moment. I'll be back."
Rio dove through the hole in the rock wall into the water filled room. At first he didn't notice the two girls only the large reptilian monster.
Then something caught his attention under the water. The sword that the statue was holding. That reptile thing could eat his katana for breakfast... especially considering that it wasn't real to begin with.
Rio dove for the sword. If he got that he would be going for the breastplate next.

The beast was still shaking off the effects of the moths when Rio dove back in the room. Even without that, the two females had taken up a considerable portion of its attention, so he was free to snag both the sword and the breastplate. Upon donning the armor, Rio felt an aura of magic fall around him, though it only lasted for a moment.
It wasn't long though, before the monster noticed Rio looting the room. This freed up Unaliari from her concentration on the illusion. She wondered, with a twinge of worry, why Mio had not emerged from the hallway after the explosion. The monster was after Rio now, so Unaliari took her chance.
"Let's go."
She scooped the elf back up as she stood, making a dash for the entrance way (her original destination before the rocks shattered). Once inside, she set Honorea down and looked her over, then caught sight of Mio almost directly underfoot. The alchemist could only spare a quick glance down the hallway to make sure no obvious threat lurked.
"I hope you're good with healing."
Unaliari left Mio in the elf's hands. She turned to run back out and assist her companion. The giant reptile was swinging its weapon down in a vertical cleaving motion at Rio.

"I hope you're good with healing."
Honorea watched as Unaliari went back into the room. She was still bleeding profusely from her arm, but she could tell Mio needed assistance immediately. Plus, Mio would be more help in that room than she would be.
She looked at Mio, who was very obviously losing blood quickly and seemed to be pretty out of it. She looked at the boulder and quickly concluded that she would have to move it in order to help Mio, but couldn't move it herself.
"Hold on Mio, stay with me- I need just a minute and we'll get you out from under this boulder. Whenever you feel the pressure lift off your leg, I need you to help me slide you out, if you can."
Honorea then positioned herself behind Mio, in preparation to move her. She looked into the room and concentrated as a massive cloud of mist lifted into the doorway and came down to surround the bottom of the boulder. As the mist coagulated, water droplets were formed and Honorea quickly changed the room temperature so that the water droplets would form ice around the boulder. She did this on each side of the boulder, thus lifting it from around Mio's shattered leg.
Since she was already behind Mio, she was able to easily concentrate on freezing the water while still pulling Mio out. Even though she was not fully with Honorea, Mio was able to help enough that she was freed from the boulder. Honorea then shifted around to concentrate on Mio's leg and the boulder slid to the ground under the melting ice.
Honorea then quickly ripped the bottom of her dress off to put pressure on Mio's leg to stop the bleeding. She then pulled three or four arrows out and bound them together to make a stronger splint-like object for Mio's leg. She splinted the leg, all the while speaking in Elvish and using the Ancient Elvish Magic to speed up the healing process in her leg. By the time she was done with the splint, Mio's leg bones were back where they were supposed to be, but not fully healed as one piece. This process would be a bit longer, but gave the girls enough that Mio's conciousness would return quickly and they could return to the other room to help.
Honorea then tore another piece out of her dress to quickly wrap her own arm so that she would be of some use.
Honorea called into the other room to let them know they would soon be in to assist.

Rio held his new blade with both hands as the reptile creature came down. One hand on the handle and the other on the flat part of the blade. When the two blades connected he could imagine his blade snapping in two and the monster slicing him in two. That moment never came. Instead Rio pushed against the monsters weapon, shoving his hands into the air. As quickly as he could he turned the blade and thrust it into the abdomen of the creature.

Mio refused to cry out again, instead gritting her teeth and scraping her fingernails along the dusty floor as Honorea's Elvish healing began to repair her leg. That was always the downside of magical healing--since it accelerated any natural-body processes such as bone growth, one usually had to feel all of the pain of the healing process at once, rather than drawn out over days or weeks. It was nearly as unbearable as the initial injury, but her understanding of its importance restrained her screams. If nothing else, the pain served to bring her back to total consciousness.
When Honorea was finally finished, Mio stretched her arm out, reaching for her discarded axe. She stood shakily--the leg still hurt terribly, and she couldn't yet put her full weight on it. Despite the cooler temperature underground, she was dripping with sweat.
Still, she favored her elven companion with a heartfelt smile. "Thank you. You don't have to worry about me anymore--go help the others, and I'll be right behind you."

Unaliari arrived back in the large room just as Rio miraculously parried blades with the monster. She watched in amazement as he not only held firm, but then shoved the creature into an opening at the abdomen. The scales seemed to give way to the sword as though they were merely for decoration. There was a shriek of pain from the creature before blood began to flow around the wound...but it wasn't blood. It was water pouring out. The giant reptile's form liquefied, then fell around the weapon. With a splash it mixed in with the water, leaving nothing but ripples.

Honorea made her way back to the room just in time to see the creature seemingly 'melt' into the water. She looked at Rio, suprised.
"Well, that was easier than I expected. Nice work Rio. Do you think it's dead or just hiding until it heals? It came out of the water to begin with, so I don't trust that it's not just waiting it out to attack us on our way back through here. Either way. I say we move on. Let's gather anything from the statues and go."

Rio looked at the blade and back to where the lizard monster had been.
"That was way too easy."
"...Let's gather anything from the statues and go."
"Agreed."
Rio started looking around for more equipment. Then he remembered.
"Mio!"
Rio ran to the hallway to see her using her axe as support. With his free hand he moved hers around his neck and placed his arm around her back.
"Let's get you out of here quickly."
