Rio called to his dog.
"Come 'ere boy! Good boy."
As the he pat the dog on his head the dog disappeared. Rio gripped his katana with both hands and ran forward. His target was one single skeleton that was just a little further from the group than the rest, like a baby gazelle.
The skeletons sword fighting was very straight forward. Not anything like fighting his father. There were a few good blocks from both of them, but just as Rio thought there was an opening. With one swift strike the skeleton warrior was halved.

Unaliari managed a quick glance towards the entrance. Rio ran into the hallway, most likely to finish off another skeleton warrior. He and Mio were doing a nice job on wiping the last line-and-a-half out.
"I see nothing! I cannot understand what it is!"
That wasn’t something the alchemist wanted to hear. As if in response to the elf, the weapon, with its wielder this time, emerged from the waters again. The creature had leapt from the walls, swinging its weapon at the top of the doorway before crashing in behind the blade with all of its weight, knocking stone and dirt free in large chunks. The once clear archway now had a door made of debris. The creature landed in front of its handiwork, facing Unaliari and Honorea. It hardly seemed like it could have been contained in the shallow depths of the water. The beast was reptilian and walked upright. It stood somewhere beyond seven feet in height and was rather broad and muscular. There was a round shield in one hand and the deadly weapon in the other. The scales covering its body were green with a hint of blue and were tightly packed in vital places -- natural armor. Notable clusters included its shoulders, down its back nearest to the spine and all along the front from chest to groin.
Having cut the party in half, the monster now had just Honorea and Unaliari to focus on. A low growl came from its throat while it sized up the two women. The only cover they had were the statues, though the fallen pieces were a reminder of how easily the blade had torn through. Still, it seemed better than standing out in the open. Slowly, and without taking her eyes off of the creature, Unaliari back towards the nearest statue. Honorea had already wisely placed herself near one.
Back out in the hallway, the skeletons clattered about clumsily, most likely from the cave-in. It was now a bit harder to see, though there was still light back in the direction the group had come from. The disturbance had also rattled the bats loose from their roost. They now swarmed about in a confusion, though none made any direct attack on Rio or Mio. Once they’d regained their bearings, the bats would be heading towards the exit of cave. The skeletons, however, would not be retreating. As they recovered, they’d resume their assault on the two stuck between them and the rubble.

At the sound of the cave-in, Mio leapt forward toward the skeletons, not wanting to get caught under the rubble. She spared a quick glance back to confirm that they had been fully sealed off from the open room.
The air in the hallway was thick with dust, and the bats were in a frenzy now, though they seemed preoccupied with escape rather than attack. However, since disturbing the bats was no longer a concern, Mio could let loose. Making sure she was just in front of Rio and his pet, she grabbed at the Wind filling the hallway, and then thrust it forward, taking care to keep a buffer zone clear near the ceiling.
The lightweight skeletons were lifted from the ground and buffeted into the walls, shattering into scattered heaps like their already-fallen comrades. As the dust settled, the skeletons were no more, the bats had all escaped (save a few who had unfortunately tested the boundary of their buffer zone), and the rubble blocked any sound from Honorea or Unaliari.
In the now-peaceful hallway, Mio exchanged a concerned glance with Rio. She wound her arms behind her back, swinging her axe into the fallen rubble with all her might. The weapon bounced off of the fallen boulders, reverberating up into the bones of her shoulders. She threw the weapon to the ground, shaking her arms and cursing enough to make her raven-haired grandmother blush.
Once the pain had passed, she turned back to Rio. "Well, unless you have a trick in that book to get us through this, I see two options. I could unweave these rocks and get us through, but it'll take some time. Or we could head back and see if one of the other passages leads us back to the others."

As the creature revealed itself, Honorea dropped the water from against the wall, which quickly covered her and Unaliari's feet. She looked at the doorway, closed with debris. She called out to the boys, hoping they could hear her.
"A little help in here!"
She looked at Unaliari who had positioned herself behind a statue as well. She thought for a moment, then called to the moths they had encountered earlier. She hoped they would help and be able to find a way through the debris into the room, and perhaps their lulling dust would affect the creature the same way it had affected the four of them.
Not one to wait and see what might happen, she quickly drew an arrow and shot straight at the creature's heart, then prepared herself for a retaliation.

Rio too dove to the ground when he heard the rocks start to fall. He quickly got up and ran to the wall just as Mio smacked it with her axe. Yeah it was pretty solid.
"Well, unless you have a trick in that book to get us through this, I see two options. I could unweave these rocks and get us through, but it'll take some time. Or we could head back and see if one of the other passages leads us back to the others."
"We'd only get lost again..."
Rio flipped open his book and started searching for something. He had plenty of things that he could use to blow the debris away, but he didn't want to hurt the girls.
"I've got nothing. Everything that I can do might end up killing someone. Is there anything I can do to help you unweave this thing?"
Rio only asked because he had no idea what unweaving rock was let alone how to do it.

She knew Rio was right--digging themselves out was the only real option. Concentrating on one of the boulders at the top of the pile, she began to remove certain strands of Earth. Like a roof with too many crossbeams removed, the entire stone suddenly collapsed, fragmenting into dust and small shards that cascaded down the rest of the pile. She moved on to the next rock.
"There's not really anything you can do. Just stay back and let me concentrate, and I'll have us out as quickly as I can."
Unlike most other things in life, when it came to her Weaving, Mio knew restraint. She could implode the entire wall of blockage in seconds, but that would blast enough shattered stone through the hallway to leave Rio and her in tatters. Instead, she would continue one boulder at a time, moving from the top down, so that the whole pile didn't collapse inward. At a speed of about five seconds per stone, she figured she could have a hole big enough for them to climb through in just a few minutes, at least.

Honorea's arrow would have bounced off of the tightly-packed scales had it not been for the difference in height between her and the reptile. From her angle, the arrow managed to wedge itself beneath a scale. Though it did not lodge itself in far, it was still an unexpected jab of pain that grabbed the beast's full attention. With the arm bearing the shield, it ripped the shaft from its body. Snarling, it eyed up the elf who had shot it. It brought the oversized weapon down at the nuisance with all of its force, enough such that the water would easily part under it.
In the hallway, Mio was successfully picking through the ruble. Rocks that lay above that which she unweaved fell in various directions, some aiding her cause by tumbling with a splash back into the large room rather than replace the wall that had disappeared below. As she worked, the moths returned in a slowly-approaching cloud. Though they had no intention of bothering Rio and Mio, the two were still in the way. Arriving at the collapsed arch, the moths began to flutter about Rio and Mio, bits of their sleep-inducing powder mixed in with the dust already thick in the room. A few moths here and there would find an opening between rocks, though these were subject to change as Mio worked. Any that made it out into the large room where Unaliari and Honorea were would flutter high at the ceiling, awaiting further orders from the elf who could speak with them.

Honorea watched the creature rip her arrow from its scales. She had already grabbed another arrow and prepared to shoot it when it came at her with its weapon. She let go of her arrow. blindly shooting as she attempted to get out of the way.
"EAAAHHHHH!"
She wailed in pain as its weapon came down right on her left forearm. She might have been able to escape the blow, but her arm was caught as she extended it to release her arrow. Lucky for her, the blade cut down across her bow first, lessening the blow to her arm but splitting her only weapon in half. She immediately fell back, as far away from the creature as possible.
As she fell, she noticed the moths that had begun to enter the room. She quickly nodded towards the creature and told them to surround his head. She wasn't sure if their dust would cause it to be drowsy or not, but she figured it would give her another second to back up if it was distracted by the flying insects.
She looked towards Unliari for help, and also noticed the bits of rock falling into the water. She hoped the other two would arrive quickly or she would be in major trouble.

Rio watched as Mio unweaved the wall of debris. He didn't understand what it was that she was doing nor did he want to get in the way, so he was content to just sit and watch. That is until and wave of exhaustion came over him and he looked up.
"No, no, no!"
Rio placed his hands on his book and beside him appeared a lantern. With the lantern he ran down the hall as he called out to the moths. Assuming that moths would follow he dropped the lantern and ran back to Mio. If the moths followed the light source he would create a wall blocking them from coming back to him.

Mio was halfway through her weaving when the moths arrived. Rio did his best to draw them away, but he could do nothing for the sleep-inducing scales that had already infused the air. She felt her concentration slipping, and her vision blurred just slightly. She had been carefully managing multiple weaves at once in order to accelerate the process, but with the addition of the moths to the equation, that became her biggest mistake.
As she began to lose control of her weaves, she struggled valiantly, catching slipping threads before they could fall out of place, but it was like trying to save a falling house of cards. As the first thread slipped from her grasp, she lost control, and other threads of Earth fell around her in a cascade. Boulders burst apart, pelting her and Rio with chunks and shards. The concussive force weakened the shattered archway further, as more stone came crumbling downward. Mio tried to leap away with a startled cry, but her reactions were too impaired.
A large, irregularly shaped section of the archway tumbled toward her, and her right leg disappeared under the stone from the knee down. There was a sharp crack, totally inaudible through the din of falling stone, but even that was overcome by her uncontrollable wail of pain. She lay there, pinned under the boulder, trying to fight back both her tears and the alluring beckoning of unconsciousness.
Rio would have to make a snap decision, as there was now an ample opening at the top of the archway. If he chose, he could climb back into the room to assist Honorea and Unaliari, the former of whom had issued her own sharp cry of pain from the lizardman's attack.
