Nothing happened. Rio finally opened his eyes and looked around. They weren't dead.
As he spoke Rio tried to pass off that he wasn't scared in the slightest.
"So, should one person wear all of the armor and clothing or should we split that stuff up?"
(So sorry. I didn't realize it was my turn. I don't know why I always assume it's Kouhai's turn.)

The initial fear was beginning to fade as another item was removed with no consequence. Still, scenarios raced through Unaliari's head of what could possibly happen. Seeing Mio and Rio acquire the weapons was tempting though. The alchemist's budget would never allow her to indulge in such flashy equipment. She sighed and looked at Honorea.
"You want in on this?"
With that, Unaliari walked over to join the two troublemakers and get a closer look at what the statues had to offer.

"So, should one person wear all of the armor and clothing or should we split that stuff up?"
"Hold on a second--nobody take anything else."
Mio had walked over to the breastplate neighboring her new axe and noticed something... off. She began murmuring in a low voice to herself.
"Hmm... it's almost like there's something in these gems. Pure Water...? And the fact that I can see it at all means it's at least partially ethereal. Could be some kind of magic effect, but I can't really tell."
She stared at the blue hilt of her axe, but didn't notice anything odd about it. Glancing at the boots, though, she could just make out the same wispy threads peeking through its gem. Looking up, she addressed the whole group this time.
"So there's something weird about the gems in the armor and boots, but my weapon looks fine. Unless someone has another idea, I can think of two ways to try and see what it is. One, somebody could put on a piece of the armor. Two, I could try to unweave a small piece of a gem. Of course, both options could be pretty dangerous."
She looked around with a smile and shrug. "Wanna vote?"

Honorea was finally walking across the room and had just reached out to grab the bow and arrow when Mio stopped her.
"Hold on a second--nobody take anything else."
She turned around to face Mio as she spoke. She hadn't even noticed the difference in the gems.
"Wanna vote?"
Honorea glanced around the room to figure out the general feelings that everyone had by reading faces.
"I think we should be careful with not knowing what is in there. If it really is some sort of ethereal then we don't want to expose ourselves to it in a small room like this. It could knock us all out just by breathing and then what would we do?"
She wasn't sure what to do. The ethereal could put them all under a general anesthesia and then what would they do? She didn't know enough about the chemical to know its full effects.
"So, anybody familiar with this to know what to do next?"

Unaliari hadn't expected Mio to be the one to halt the group, especially when she'd been the one to suggest looting the hall in the first place. The alchemist's debate over the best course of action was interrupted by a low rumble that shook the floor. Unaliari looked around as the echoes faded. It had sounded like a (large) creature had made the noise. In the distance, maybe out in the hallways, she heard scraping and clattering mixed in with the chittering of the bats. Once the rumble had completely cleared, the bats also settled. The other noises began to die off as well...for the time being at least.

Mio looked around alarmedly at the noise, steadying herself slightly against the baritone vibrations. Her companions' expressions were clear.
"So I guess I'm not the only one that heard that... You think we should go take a look?"
((Figured I'd get this moving again. Trunks always thinks it's my turn for some reason anyways xD ))

"So I guess I'm not the only one that heard that... You think we should go take a look?"
Honorea looked at Mio, alarm written on her face. She recalled information that she had heard the bats speaking about earlier in the cave.
"The bats said something earlier of a 'he'. Perhaps I should find out more information about what kind of 'he' it was to which they were referring."
She turned towards the hallway, calling out to the bats.
"Perhaps someone could give us some information as to what that rumble was, and also what 'he' you were referring to earlier. My companions and I don't like to be uninformed when in places such as these."

Rio dropped his new sword with a klang and pulled his more familiar katana.
"So I guess I'm not the only one that heard that... You think we should go take a look?"
"Absolutely not! Whatever made that sound sounded fairly large. I would like to have room to move around if that 'he', whoever that is, decides to attack."

The bats chattered their response to Honorea. Unaliari glanced back over to the elf.
"So what did they s--"
She sensed it then, the sudden distortion in the air originating from the entrance back where the bats were. Four small ball-like objects were arcing through the air, one aimed in the general area of each of the four explorers in the room of statues. Mid-flight, the objects changed -- they opened up to reveal what they really were: nets.
Even with her advantage of sensing the initial firing of the nets, there still was not much time to act. Unaliari yelled to the others to watch out as she dove behind the statue closest to her, hoping the stone figure would be ensnared in her place.

Mio, still standing somewhat near to the entrance, had ample time to react to the small, incoming projectile. When it opened into a net mid-flight, however, her plan had to change. She impulsively arced her hand upward in front of herself, two fingers extended. Weaving the threads of Air before her into a thin line, she sliced the net in two with the razor wind just before it engulfed her. As the two pieces sailed past her, she bore a wide, adrenalin-induced grin.
"Now this is more like it!"
She didn't have the constitution for Rio's plodding cautiousness, nor did she have the patience to wait for more information from Honorea. Raising her axe, she rushed back toward the entrance, ready and willing to cause some damage.
