Honorea’s expression changed from one of curiosity to one of alarm as the bats chatted away, not answering any of her questions.
"So what did they s--"
She didn’t have time to look back at Unaliari before she saw the entities coming towards them from the hallway. She saw them open, and quickly dove between the two statues she was near, which put her behind one of them. She noticed Unaliari had done the same thing and she watched Mio slice the net in half, and begin towards where the nets had originated. She looked towards Rio to see if he had escaped and then called out to Mio.
“Wait! You have no idea what’s out there. The bats told me nothing concrete, except that it was unwise to go back the way we came. Perhaps we should rethink our strategy for a moment; it would be a terrible situation if we got ourselves ambushed from both directions.”

When Unaliari yelled out to them Rio looked up just in time to see the net open up in front of him. He didn't have time to cut clean through it like Mio had. Instead he thrust the blade into the net. With the back of the blade he flipped the net down the row of statues.
When he turned around Mio was already to the door of the entrance.
“Wait! You have no idea what’s out there. The bats told me nothing concrete, except that it was unwise to go back the way we came..."
Rio didn't wait for her to finish.
"Mio!"
He too booked it for the door, but only to help Mio. Even though he knew she could handle herself somehow he could see her getting in over her head more often than not.
While running Rio yelled back.
"Keep behind those statues and prepare yourselves for a fight!"

The light from the main hall was much greater than the poorly lit hallway they'd entered from. Because of this, it would take a brief moment for Mio's eyes to adjust. Hopefully she didn't barrel blindly back into the hallway, for there were creatures other than the bats waiting to greet her. Initially, the figures might have appeared human, but it would quickly be apparent that they were lacking major human components. In fact, the only thing they had at all were bones -- a small troop of skeletons had filled the hallway, some still with fresh dirt crumbling off of them. In the front line were four archers, but behind them were skeletons armed with swords. Overhead, the bats chattered excitedly, and it didn't take an elf to get the feeling they were hungry for blood.
Back in the main hall, another rumble shook the floor. Unaliari backed away from the statue, which now stood with a net draping over it. The stone floor cracked violently and abruptly, giving way with no resistance. There was nowhere for Unaliari to go. The alchemist thought for sure she was about to fall to her death, but the stone was the only thing to go. The rumbling shook the debris down through a sturdy metal grating which could still serve as a floor. With how easily the stone gave way, it was a wonder that it had ever lasted even without the minor earthquake. Splashing could be heard below as the rock finished its descent. Water quickly rose up through the holes in the grating, almost instantly filling the room up to the ankles. The water surprisingly didn't rush out through the doorways. It instead stopped at them as though there was no opening at all.
The thought of the room filling with water did not sit well with Unaliari. She froze, her eyes locked on the liquid. Was it rising anymore? For now, it was not.
At the far end of the room where the other exit was, there was another splash. Whatever had made the splash was not visible (which was odd, considering how shallow the water was). The ripples were the only indication that something had to have been there.

Of course, Mio did barrel blindly back into the hallway. She had initially planned on a burst of wind preceding her, but had decided that she didn't want to unroost every last bat from the ceiling--that might upset them, after all. So instead she tore through the door, her axe ready to do the talking.
Fortunately, Mio's night vision tended to be somewhat better than average (which, like everything, she assumed she could attribute to her mother's side). Thanks to this, she didn't need to wait to make out the skeletons filling the hall. Swinging her axe before her in a horizontal, wall-to-wall arc, she intended to shatter the archers to pieces before they could pull off a shot. This, of course, would leave the swordsmen (or women... who knew?) free to act, but she was sure she could figure something out in that event.

Mio's swing cleaved each of the archers in half, eliminating their line. Even as the spray of bones flew through the air, a wave of warrior skeletons was fast to step in, trampling over the remains of fallen comrades to each take a jab or slice at Mio.

Honorea was torn. She knew Unaliari was not a fan of the water, and she was curious as to what had caused the splash in the water, but she also wanted to go into the hallway and help Mio with whatever it was that she heard her swing her axe into.
She chose to stay in the room, on her guard, to search out what had made the noise in the water. Not wanting to leave Mio hanging, she called out to Rio.
"Rio! Go help Mio, give me a minute to take care of this water and hopefully we'll be out to help you. Unaliari, stay on this side near me."
Honorea began speaking in elvish in order to manipulate the water. Her words moved the water behind the set of statues opposite where she was standing (opposite the statue with the bow and arrow) and ran it up the wall to create a waterfall/aquarium stretching to all walls: side to side and top to bottom.
Having the floor to the room cleared of all the water, she prepared herself for whatever might have made the splash.

As Rio reached the door he noticed that the water just stopped. He looked at it with his head cocked to the side like a puzzled dog.
"Rio! Go help Mio, give me a minute to take care of this water and hopefully we'll be out to help you."
Rio ran into the darkened hallway just in time to see bones, bows, and arrows scatter everywhere. He could only assume that some kind of undead warrior was attacking. That or Mio knocked over a casket. Either way he could only think of one thing that would enjoy bones.
Rio flipped open his book to a picture of a large dog. Not any particular breed, but based on the picture it could hold its own. Rio held his hand to the book and beside him the dog appeared.
"Go get 'em boy!"
With his command the dog ran forward diving at one of the swordsmen. The massive jaws of the canine wrapped around the lower spine of one of them and pulled him horizontal. The dog began shaking his plaything like any normal dog would. As he did he knocked it into another skeleton shattering it in the process.
Rio's eyes finally adjusted as his pet shook the skeleton to bits. With his katana drawn he ran forward stopping a sword from coming down on top of Mio. With a quick deflection Rio brought his sword through the right shoulder of the attacker down through its ribcage.
Rio stood ready for another attack from the remaining undead.

Unaliari watched as the water aligned itself to the walls of the room. With the water relocated, an empty pit with no visible bottom was left behind. Unaliari looked for any latches that might indicate the floor could drop out from under them at any random point, but couldn't find any in her immediate area.
Surprisingly, when Honorea cleared away the water to the walls, nothing remained that might have made the splash. Most likely, attention would be on the cleared floor, but the next attack come from the walls. Spinning almost like a boomerang would, a hatchet erupted from the cascading falls, flying across the room towards Honorea and Unaliari. The weapon was large -- it required hands much bigger than anyone in the partyhad to weild it proficiently. Unaliari dove into Honorea, sending them both to the ground as the hatchet sliced through the statues above. Two were down before the weapon splashed into the water on the other wall. The tops of the statues shattered around the elf and alchemist. Amidst the wreckage was the quiver of arrows and the bow. The boots remained where they had always been, though the top of their owner was now missing.
The swordsmen were indeed free to act, since Mio had rushed in with only the archers on her mind. Rio's dog managed to take out two skeletons in the line, unfortunately, one of them had already finished swinging its blade at Mio. The wound would not be deep, but hopefully would be a lesson to the hasty girl to have more caution. Another sword was about to deal a more fatal blow to Mio, but Rio stepped in, parrying it just in time. With all of the skeletal debris Mio, Rio and his dog had created, the next row of warriors had a more difficult time approaching.

Too late to correct herself, Mio knew she was wide open. Rather than stand back up into a blade she had no hope of dodging, she fell prone following her attack, receiving a shallow slice to the back instead of what could have been much worse. The leather of her vest prevented the wound from being anything more than cosmetic, though the moist feeling of blood on her undershirt was certainly annoying.
Rolling backward to her feet, she took up her axe once more, ready for the oncoming undead. In the narrow hallway, she and Rio held the defensive advantage, and she was confident they could dispatch the rest without incident.

Honorea looked at Unaliari for a split second before grabbing the bow and arrows at her feet and standing again, ready to fire at any point. She looked into the water where the hatchet had come from and could see nothing. She debated whether or not to drop the water again, but figured it was safer for the time being to leave it where it was. She still had her full focus on the wall, so it was an easy feat to accomplish. She looked at Unaliari.
"I see nothing! I cannot understand what it is!"
Honorea took a step back towards the opposite wall, and a bit behind one of the remaining statues. She did not want to be caught unaware again.
