"You should be traveling with us, at least for this night."
Beyond this, Ede would argue no further. Scarlette had seemed like a worthwhile chance encounter, but Ede would not (or could not, she figured) force the woman to join them, even if she was injured. Then, the exchange began between Doran and the innkeeper.
"Something wrong?"
"Is somet...What the...MY DOOR!"
The man pointed a fat, stubby finger at Doran.
"Ya better be payin' fer that! I knew you and that huss was trouble!"
His voice rose more and more as he spoke, bringing some of those lodged in rooms nearby to their doors (though in truth, the door breaking had grabbed their attention already).

Rayne stepped out of the room and over to the inn keeper, patted him on the shoulder and began her speech.
"Listen sir. My friends here are not the ones that caused this mess. Did you see the weird woman wearing the blindfold pass you by? It was her. She's the reason for all of this. I mean look at what she did to our fighter friend here."
She walked over to Scarlette and pointed out the fresh bandage on her neck.
"Now, I know some well off people here in town. I will notify them of the damage that this woman has caused and they will bring her to justice. Your door will be paid for you have my promise. Just give me one, maybe two days for my people to find her."
Rayne even surprised herself with her performance, but she thought she didn't have anything to lose.
Rolled a 19 + 1 in Bluff = 20. Don't know how you want to use that of if you don't that's fine too.

Indeed, Rayne's performance was quite convincing. The innkeeper had seen the blindfolded woman on his way up, and had noticed she'd been in a hurry.
Blast!
If only he'd thought to stop her...
"Just give me one, maybe two days for my people to find her."
That part didn't sit well with the man. Though Rayne had successfully pinned the crime on Isabella, the four standing in front of him were the only ones he could trouble for compensation.
"A few days? Won't ya be gone by then? I guess ya better be leavin' me some...collateral."
He eyed up Ede, still thinking her presence was to bring in some money for Doran. If he had known that wasn't her true purpose, he would have never thrown out that particular suggestion.

"A few days? Won't ya be gone by then? I guess ya better be leavin' me some...collateral."
The way that the innkeeper spoke those words rubbed Scarlette the wrong way. Combined with the manner in which he was looking at Ede, the red-head was almost certain that leaving her here was a very, very bad idea.
But what could she do? Her German was horrible, and she had nothing of her own to offer. She was about as useful as the door that lay broken on the floor.
She watched the innkeeper carefully. Even if she had to stare until her eyes teared up, she was going to make it quite clear that she had her sights on him.
And she was not in any mood to play nice.

Doran wasn't sure which was more remarkable--Rayne attempting such a farcical story, or the fact that the innkeeper actually seemed to be buying it at first. Of course, once she got to the part about paying him in a few days, the man proved not to be quite so stupid as Rayne had apparently hoped. Could the rouge actually have been so naïve as to think that would work?
Still, no matter how wronged he might have been, the dwarfish man was less than prudent in his selection of collateral, to say the least. Doran took one step forward and grabbed the man by the collar, lifting him off of the ground so that his feet dangled in the airspace once occupied by the top of his head. Slamming him back into the wall rattled his teeth, and the few people who had been peeking out of the other doors in the hall quickly retreated back into their rooms.
"Any further unsavory remarks would be very unwise on your part."
As much as Doran wanted to roll the man down his own staircase, they had attracted enough attention already, and getting Ede safely out of town was more important than protecting her honor. He procured a single silver coin with his free hand--a not insignificant part of what Ede had paid him thus far--and forced it into the trembling man's mouth. He released his grip, allowing the man to fall back down to the floor.
"I think that should cover things." And indeed it should--that silver piece would buy him much more than a replacement door. For now, haste was imperative, and Doran was not in the mood to haggle. He gestured to the others that they would be leaving now. No matter how stupid the innkeeper could be, he assumed he would know better than to open his mouth once again.

Did he actually buy it? That was amazing. Then he spoke up.
"A few days? Won't ya be gone by then? I guess ya better be leavin' me some...collateral."
Well that just slowed down her progress, but then Doran stepped up.
Rayne's jaw dropped a little when she watched Doran pick the man off the ground. It dropped even more when he pulled out the silver coin. Not only was that way more than what he needed for a door, but she had just given the performance of a lifetime for nothing. Oh well. At least they were leaving. Rayne held out her arm to Scarlette to offer her assistance. She figured she wouldn't accept it, but offered it anyway.

The red-head smirked as Doran took charge of the situation. The small man had gotten his just desserts -- after the way he was looking at Ede, he certainly deserved it.
She was also surprised when the monstrous man pulled out the coin and practically fed it to the dwarf of a man, and let out a quick snicker.
That certainly takes care of things.
As Rayne held out her hand, she grabbed the woman's wrist with a grip that was much stronger than someone of her size was expected to have, and hoisted herself up.
Scarlette walked toward the doorway, giving the innkeeper a focused glare before looking expectantly at Ede.

The innkeeper's eyes went wide as Doran made a grab for him, then slammed him against the wall. Only then did he remember the size of the monstrosity of a man he was barking at. He flinched as Doran grabbed the coin, thinking he'd be slugged in the face, or worse. Instead, the money was crammed into his mouth. Though he hadn't planned on saying anything more, the coin further ensured he wouldn't. He fell the floor, nearly swallowing the silver piece, and sat there huddled until the group left.
Ede, understanding no German, watched with frightened surprise as Doran roughed up the innkeeper. She looked over at Scarlette, with whom she'd been speaking with last. Scarlette had a sharp glare piercing right into the innkeeper. It seemed as though he was in the wrong based on popular vote, so she didn't make any move to stop Doran. Once he dropped the fat, frightened man to the floor, Ede silently hurried after the other three to make their departure, timidly looking at him as she passed by.

Scarlette walked with her hands firmly crossed across her chest as the group made their way out of the tavern. Once they had exited the building, she glanced up at the sky and heaved a quiet sigh.
Hopefully the whole journey won't be like this...
As she brought her gaze down again, she glanced from Ede, to Rayne, and then Doran, before she looked down at the ground and spoke in a calm, even voice.
"I don't suppose we have a destination in mind?"--------------- Once I get out of work, I'll be writing down a few locations on paper and rolling a die to see where the group could possibly go next. Sound good? ;

Doran hefted his shield, pack, and hammer after dropping the innkeeper and strolled out of the building with his traveling companions. Though it wasn't extremely late yet, the sun had fully set, and the stars were beginning to peek out of the blanket of night. He took Rayne slightly aside so that Scarlette and Ede could speak.
"Where were you planning on getting a carriage? I'm not very comfortable with the idea of stealing one, if that's what you had in mind."
