Rio took a drink of his ale as he listened to Mio talk. She sounded a lot like himself. Both traveled from place to place. Granted he had a purpose behind his travels, but still they shared a lot in common.
"That's thanks to Nii-san. At least, that's my nickname for him--daddy taught me it. It means brother, but he's really more of an uncle. I've trained with him since before I can remember."
And she liked to train… yet another thing that they had in common. Rio took another swig of his ale.
"Though I guess 'Nii-san' doesn't mean anything to you. His name's Trunks, so if you ever happen to meet him, tell him you know me!"
Rio turned his head and spit out a spray of ale.
“Wait, wait, wait, Trunks… like the savior of my planet, Trunks. You’re kidding me right? You’ve trained with Trunks.”
Rio was flailing his arms around now and talking at the speed of light.
“I can’t even believe that you trained with Trunks. That’s crazy. Is he as powerful as I’ve read about? Well of course he is he helped save the planet. No wonder you can toss that thing around so easily.”

Mio watched Rio start sputtering around like a little boy who had just met the superhero from his storybooks. She downed the rest of her (second) mug of ale, allowing him to go on for a bit--it was quite entertaining, after all. When she did finally start to answer his myriad of questions, her words were just beginning to slur.
"'Course I've met him--he's daddy's, like, best friend! Why do you know him? Is he famous or somethin'? Would be just like him not t' tell me something like that. And 'course he's powerful! Even now he could still beat me with his eyes closed! I mean, damn... he's so old!"
She paused for a second, thinking, then her face brightened as if something wonderful had popped into her mind. She grabbed Rio's shoulders and shook him lightly, but excitedly.
"Wait, does that mean you've heard of daddy too!? 'is name's Delphus, but everyone always jus' calls him Blu."

Unaliari blinked, then laughed as Honorea set high expectations for her presence.
“It's really only for materials. I'll mix up whatever I can make and sell it out to earn some food. The more exotic your components are, the better the meal you'll be able to buy. Plus, it's always fun experimentin' with new mixtures. Never know when you'll lose a hand.”
She waved her free hand in the air for added effect, as though it could be gone at any moment.
“And you? Where's this home with the waterfalls, and why did you leave it to come out here?”
Unaliari took the last swig of her ale, emptying the glass. She wondered if it would really be worth returning for more.

“And you? Where's this home with the waterfalls, and why did you leave it to come out here?”
Honorea hesitated before answering Unaliari. She wasn’t really sure what had happened, so she didn’t quite know how to explain it to Unaliari.
“Well, I come from Middle Earth, in a time long before Mirina and Earth probably had life on it. And I did not choose to come here. I was walking through my lands one day, thinking about my life and where it was going…”
Honorea paused for a moment, lost in thought.
“…Anyway, suddenly, right in front of me a burst of purple-ish light erupted. I did not have a chance to react in any fashion. When my mind stopped spinning, well, what I felt was spinning; I was in a strange place I had never seen before. I came to find out it was Mirina, and I was far away from the time of the elves.”
Honorea turned to look at Unaliari, who was looking right back at her. She didn’t know what her reaction would be to such a strange sounding story, so she glanced around and noticed Unaliari’s empty mug.
“Do you need a refill? We could check on the others if you’d like.”

Rio was shook and then just about fell over from the news.
"Wait just one minute. You're telling me that not only is Trunks your 'uncle' but Blu is your father. That's insane. What are you going to tell me next that Dota is your mother?"
As he was talking Rio pushed his cup aside. He was done drinking for now. He had so many questions to ask this girl he didn't want the ale to mess this situation up.

As Rio pushed his cup aside, Mio made a grab for it, finishing off its contents herself. She had left 'tipsy' behind, as was pretty well sloshed at this point. No longer just holding him by the shoulders, she was basically leaning on Rio for support at this point.
"My mother? Wouldn't daddy like that? No, silly, she's my grandma!"

The story had grabbed Unaliari's attention for sure. If her stare was making Honorea uncomfortable, it was completely unintentional.
“Do you need a refill? We could check on the others if you’d like.”
“Uh...no! Well yes...but more importantly! I'm not from this place or time either. I was in the middle of the battlefield when a purple light whisked me away...I mean, I didn't wind up in Mirina, but I can go there now. Well you saw that. And now my people are gone as well...”
She stopped herself, realizing that the elf may just think that she was poking fun at her tale. She hoped her sincerity had shined through in her enthusiastic outburst. She would have never guessed in a million years that there would be somebody that had encountered that same light...and she had even managed to meet this rare person. Though she'd offered her a friendly smile before, it was easy to see it had brightened considerably.

“Are you serious? I wonder what happened to us both that made us come to this time, and relatively the same place. Where did you go to from the purple light? Wait, why were you in a battlefield?!”
Honorea slowed down her questions, not wanting to seem too eager.
“Obviously, my heritage is elvish. From what origin do you hail, if you are the last of its kind?”

"No, silly, she's my grandma!"
If Rio wasn't busy holding up Mio he would have fallen over.
"Sugoi! Wow do I wish that I could have trained with them. I can't even believe that you grew up with all of them."
Rio shoved Mio a bit so that she was upright on the bench and held her there.
"So I think we've had enough. You should go lay down before you end up falling down."

"Well, there's no reason ya can't train with 'em sometime. Daddy at least... I can call him pretty eas'ly any time I want."
"So I think we've had enough. You should go lay down before you end up falling down."
Mio considered his words. "Mebbe you're right. I am feeling pretty tired. You'll tuck me in 'n make me cozy, right?"
She suddenly stood upright, reaching behind her and idly twirling her axe through the air with one hand. The girl was certainly not paying the slightest mind to this, as the massive blade soared just an inch over Rio's head at least twice.
Staggering over to her bunk in the communal cabin, she reached into her traveling bag and pulled out a light sleeping shirt, hemmed extra long so that when worn it stretched about halfway down to her knees.
"Now don' look, I have to change!"
However, before Rio could have even processed the request, her bikini top had been tossed aside and the bedtime garment pulled over her slender frame. The sailors lucky enough to get an eyeful would be bragging to their mates about it all night.
She collapsed heavily into the bunk, one leg hanging over, dropping the axe next to her bag with a loud thud. She spoke once more to Rio, a yawn or two breaking up her words.
"I'm not gonna wake up t'find you gone off on the island without me, am I? Haven't had anyone to travel with in a while. It'd be fun."
