"Don't worry we'll save you the trouble and just pick up his things tomorrow."
'Save you the trouble', huh? That meant that Rayne did understand. At least a little.
Now all she had to do was hope, for her own sake, that they could think of something soon.
Her expression darkened, and she uncoiled her whip completely.
"That's enough out of you. Time to be quiet," she whispered viciously; then, she took the very end of her weapon, flashed a wicked hook in front of Scarlette's face.
"Don't move too much, little butterfly. I'd hate for you to die before I get any information out of you."
She sheathed her thin dagger, and instead pressed the hook's edge against her skin before wrapping most of her whip around her neck.
She was relieved, at least for a moment. Then the feeling of the hook, and the re-wrapping of the whip, caused a cold ball of dread to form in the pit of her stomach.
Please, do something soon, she pleaded in thought, shutting her eyes. Please.

Doran was discontent with the situation, to put it mildly. His weapon was in the room, and with only this one door, no windows, and a way-too-small chimney allowing access, his options were very limited. It was fairly certain, with Scarlette's words, that the strange blindfold-wearing girl had gone inside.
Well, Scarlette's wellbeing wasn't exactly his concern (though he couldn't be called entirely unconcerned, either). "Scheisse..."
He whispered back to Rayne. "You have about a half-second to come up with a better idea before I kick this door into splinters. Go."
He took one step back, pushing Rayne and Ede out of the way, and reared his leg back for the kick.

Ede, understanding only the tiniest of tiny bits of German, had no idea what was about to happen, until Doran swept both her and Rayne effortlessly aside, then went through the motions as though he meant to kick the door down...

In that half second Rayne's mind raced. She could without any problems fit down the chimney. She quickly debated on diving on Doran's leg to prevent him from kicking down the door, but any situation she could come up with always ended with her flying through the door with a broken sternum. So instead Rayne pulled two daggers from her belt.
The pieces of wood hadn't hit the floor before Rayne started to move. She ran into the room and faced the two of them. With the whip around Scarlette it seemed like she was the blindfolded woman's new pet. She of course would never tell Scarlette that.
With the adrenalin coursing through her body she didn't really think about what language this woman was speaking and yelled out in German.
"Let her go!"

"Let her go!"
"I'm afraid I can't do that," the blindfolded one laughed, easily responding to the thief's outburst. "You see, if I move so much as an inch..."
She took a step back, pulling her weapon along with her; Scarlette's hands clawed at the leather of the whip, and she let out a sharp, half-choked cry of pain. Along with the thin cut from the woman's dagger, another trickle of red dribbled down the side of her neck, underneath the coils that strangled her.
"La nenita here will have her pretty head sliced off. Or, maybe she'd die from the lack of air, first."
She closed the distance between herself and her captive, giving enough slack so that Scarlette could gasp for air.
"R-Rayne," Scarlette coughed out in French, motioning to her armor and her rapier with a weak nod of her head. "My sword. If I could--agh!"
She was yanked back, toward her attacker, her fingers vainly trying to tug the whip away from her neck as she struggled to take a breath. She felt the hook at the end of it dig painfully into her neck, and felt more of her blood trickling down her skin.
"SILENCE, NENITA!" The blindfolded woman hissed in English, pulling the handle of her whip downward, and dragging the red-head down as well. "Can't you see I'm trying to speak with your companions?"

Doran followed Rayne into the room, rather more calmly. He assessed the situation quickly, finding that it wasn't much different than he had expected. He stood in the doorway, making no move for his hammer or the captive Scarlette.
"Why so worried, Rayne?" he asked, relaxed. "It's not like it matters what happens to Scarlette, after all. The only thing I'm concerned about is my own safety."
Of course, the only thing he was concerned about was Ede's safety, but he wasn't letting on to that. He faced the blindfolded woman, taking a more intimidating stance, and no longer pretending that his words weren't intended for her in the first place.
"Of course, this doorway is the only way out of the room. And if someone kills Scarlette, I'm going to feel very threatened, what with there being a murderer present, and all. As the situation stands, I'm of the mind to let you walk out of here--but just you.
"Rayne feels the same way, of course." His forceful tone for this final sentence left no room for argument from the named party.

Rayne charged through the door. Doran sauntered in close behind her. Ede was left in the hall to listen to some heated exchanges in all sorts of languages. She stayed in the hallway with her back against the wall, mostly because Doran was blocking the entrance anyways. Her hands shifted within the recesses of her long sleeves while she waited to see what the situation would escalate into.

Rayne sheathed one of her daggers and quickly grabbed the sword holding it at the base of the blade ready to throw it at a moments notice. Still in her right hand she held her dagger it too ready to be thrown. She did focus her aim toward the whip due to the blood trickling from Scarlette's neck. Although it would be a tough throw she may luck out and sever it if she tried. For now though she held off.
"Of course, this doorway is the only way out of the room. And if someone kills Scarlette, I'm going to feel very threatened, what with there being a murderer present, and all. As the situation stands, I'm of the mind to let you walk out of here--but just you. Rayne feels the same way, of course."
Rayne nodded. She knew Scarlette had no idea what was just said, but instead spoke in French to her.
"Don't worry we'll get you out of here."

She understood a little of what Doran had said -- enough to know that he either really disliked her, or was really, really full of himself.
(Her bet, truthfully, was on the first one.)
"Don't worry we'll get you out of here."
She nodded, weakly. She was starting to feel somewhat lightheaded.
"Of course, this doorway is the only way out of the room. And if someone kills Scarlette, I'm going to feel very threatened, what with there being a murderer present, and all. As the situation stands, I'm of the mind to let you walk out of here--but just you. Rayne feels the same way, of course."
"Ah... but you just said you didn't care what happened to la nenita here..." The blindfolded woman mewled. She gave a playful tug on the whip, smiling when the red-head gave a half-strangled cry. She looked at Rayne, noting that her dagger was at the ready.
"I do hope you're not planning on trying to cut through my whip. It's got a rather nasty surprise at its end, you see, and the force of a thrown weapon would be enough to send it tearing straight through the little butterfly's throat."
Colored spots were creeping into the corners of her vision. Her body was feeling awfully heavy; she just wanted to slump to the floor...
But she had to fight it. The weight of her body crumpling to the ground would likely cause the hook cutting into her skin to tear her neck clean open.
She had to fight it...
"If you want me to leave, you'll have to move aside first. Decide quickly, though. La nenita seems to be falling asleep," The blindfolded one smiled darkly, and she motioned to Scarlette, whose eyes were beginning to gloss over.

This was beginning to feel like a verbal game of chicken, each of them trying to bluff the other into giving in first. At least, he really hoped the whip-wielder was bluffing. She had to know that if Scarlette died, there was nothing stopping them from taking equal compensation from her.
The whole thing was highly irritating. He was irritated at the Spanish woman for being such a confident bitch, he was irritated at Scarlette for insinuating herself into the group in the first place, only to get them into trouble this quickly, and most of all, he was irritated at himself because he knew he really was bluffing. Scarlette was a nosy nuisance, but she hadn't done any actual harm. Some (small, quiet) part of him was actually crying out a muffled demand that he not let her die.
Still, if he let the woman take her, he was giving her up to die anyways--he had little faith that the Spaniard would simply release her when she was finished. Hopefully Scarlette could hold on just a little bit longer, for her own sake, or he would have to give up on this game. The giant took one step outside the door, blocking Ede from the doorway, and gestured into the hall.
"I've moved aside, but you're not taking la nenita with you. I'm unarmed, and you have my word that if you release her, we will let you leave and not pursue you--though you can always trust your weapons as well if my word is not good enough."
He had one more card to play in this bluff game. Someone as apparently well-educated (based on her lingual acrobatics) and well-trained as her would not be some common thug holding up inngoers for petty coin. He had a strong suspicion what it was that she was after.
"You aren't a stupid person. You know as well as I that if la nenita dies, it will be impossible for you to leave this room alive. And I don't think you'll have much luck finding the Sword if you're dead."
