Oukan was up as Mio turned around the edge of the wall and headed toward her father. The hell sent child jumped up to his feet then looked toward the ice. All he had to do was wait.
1 2 3 Go
Oukan jumped from his position to the top of the wall. As he was just about to clear it he sunk his claws into the ice sending his back toward the ground quicker than he had originally jumped. His timing was perfect. Just as he came down Mio was directly in his path. If all went well his kick would send Mio flying into the ice wall.
A giant of a man stood at a distance and watched as Oukan flew up over the ice. There was little he could do from here to stop it, but he wasn’t interested in fighting. Ayame had sent him to keep an eye on her husband and that’s what he planned on doing.
The seven foot tall man began walking towards the wall of ice. His long black hair, despite being in a high ponytail, flowed down his bare back almost touching the white pants that he was wearing. With each step the gold necklace that he wore announced his presence, but from this distance he doubted anyone could hear him. Ouji waited for the right moment to help get his old friend out of there.

Trunks pulled the vine sword from the ground with his right hand. He attempted to do the same with his left but he didn’t have enough strength to lift its weight. The winged sword fell to the ground beside him. Trunks looked up just as the girl was rubbing her leg. “I’m sorry. Did that hurt? How about next time I make it fatal so you don’t have to worry about the pain?”
With that Trunks rushed forward. Far outside of his blades normal reach he cast it forward straight at the demon. The blades separated and headed right at her midsection. Such a simple attack he planned to miss. When the blade retracted is when he planned to make his strike. Assuming she didn’t alter the course of the sword the saiyan prince wanted to bring the blade around his head and attack with a horizontal swing coming from the right.

Dota's compassion was quite heartwarming. Blu thought back to the first time they had met, and inwardly chuckled at how far they had come in all these years (though, to be certain, they always maintained a certain amount of antagonism in their relationship).
Though the pain from his injuries was intense, Blu forced himself to remain conscious as he was lifted on the makeshift stretcher. Besides, this was too good a scene to miss.
"The great kanji mage, being cradled off by his mother-in-law after having his ass kicked by his nephew... perhaps fatherhood has domesticated me?"
------------------------------------------------
Mio rushed around the wall, only to find her father thankfully alive and being taken care of by her grandmother. She breathed a sigh of relief.
No sooner had the breath issued from her mouth, however, than Oukan tore over Dota's wall, kicking Mio backward into it. Her back thudded against the structure, but the support allowed her to remain on her feet. Just as he landed between her and her father, Mio was already retaliating.
The threads of Dota's ice were always... interesting... to manipulate. Since the ice goddess didn't manipulate worldly threads of water, but actually spontaneously created her own matter/energy hybrid magic, they were no normal threads. Superficially, they resembled the familiar form--multiple threads of water with a delicate intertwining of air. However, the threads that Dota created seemed to literally burn away nearby ambient fire threads, and a single thread of emptiness peeked through the tapestry of each water-air interweave.
Normally, of course, Mio was almost completely inept at weaving emptiness. Thanks to their blood relation, however, she had been spent a significant amount of time throughout her life training with her grandmother. Together, they had discovered something of a loophole--with the right technique, Mio could manipulate the water and air threads of Dota's ice, and the emptiness would simply be carried along naturally.
The ability came in handy now. As Oukan's feet touched down, the ice wall around Mio ceased being a flat surface, and erupted into spikes (excepting, of course, the section she was leaning against). The spikes would reach Oukan's position, but not extend so far as to endanger the disabled Blu.

Well, it was now or never. "Here goes nothing..."
Blu stepped back into the wall that obscured Ayame, disrupting the egg's perfect red shell. He studied her position, how the shackles connected, and any other details he could take in. He would have to be quick, and his movements precise.
He started off standing directly in front of Ayame. Moving as quickly as he could, he swiped his leg through the fire 'chains' holding Ayame's legs, leaving her suspended by the wrist shackles. Before the lower shackles could regrow, he turned his back into the wall he stood in, and ran backward through it until he stood at Ayame's side. This tore a 90 degree, quickly-shrinking opening about six feet in height through the egg. As he took the final step of this maneuver, he used his arm to slice through the overhead wrist chains. He used this swipe to spin his body, so that before the now-unshackled Ayame could fall, he kicked her in the small of the back as hard as he possibly could (he hooked his shin around her back, rather than using his toes--he didn't want to hurt her more than necessary).
The result of all this was that the semi-conscious Ayame was rocketed out of the opening in the cage wall before it could re-close (though she would likely find herself a little singed by the edges). Her landing was not likely to be pretty. Hopefully she wasn't awake enough to remember what had just happened. Blu started thinking now about how he would explain away the bruises, cuts, and scrapes that she would doubtlessly ask about later.

Dota was just ready to begin moving when Oukan jumped the wall. This kept her from leaving, for she was uncertain if he intended to interfere or was purely focused on Mio. It seemed to be the latter, which brought instant retaliation from Mio. The sudden close-ranged battle was not something that Dota wanted to leave herself open to -- for the moment, she was stalled from retreating.

“I’m sorry. Did that hurt? How about next time I make it fatal so you don’t have to worry about the pain?”
The demon girl sidestepped to her right, out of the reach of the thrust attack. When the blades retracted, the she took a step in to follow them. Her left hand brought her sai up to the level of Trunks' next swing where she caught the sword between the prongs of her weapon. Having learned that his sword could bend about obstacles, she was taking a gamble by relying on her parry, but went ahead anyways.
As she kept his swing in check, the horned girl took another stab at the saiyan with her free sai, right below the end of his sternum. On its way, the weapon ignited once more into a swirl of flames. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ayame awoke abruptly to a jarring pain in her back before she found herself tumbling across the ground (landing face first, no less). The time spent in the fiery cage had not been kind to her. The bits of clothing that had been directly underneath the shackles were mostly burned, giving way to some blistered skin beneath. She also had an overall flushed look from the exposure to the heat, but she hadn't been entirely incinerated, so that was a plus. Ayame might not have been quick to get up, but she was definitely conscious now.

The spikes flew forward just barely missing Oukan as he did a back flip. His hands touched the ground and he pushed off even further. He looked back and noticed that the attack wasn’t going further than her father. Perfect. That’s how he’d truly hurt Mio. Oukan lifted his hands into the air. Two spheres of dark red energy formed as he pointed both palms in the direction of the fallen Blu.
The clumsy giant managed to sneak up behind Oukan as he was about to attack. Ouji’s hands were about the size of the small boys back. With one hand Ouji grabbed the back of Oukan and lifted him in the air. The spheres of energy quickly vanished as Oukan was visibly shaken.
“Knock it off!”
Ouji lifted the small boy over his head and tossed him. He knew Oukan would land on his feet he just wanted him away. As the boy flew over the ice wall Ouji ran to his fallen friend.

The Saiyan’s sword caught the demon girl’s weapon wrapped around it and locked in place. That sai wasn’t going anywhere without the sword attached for quite a bit. Before Trunks could even try to yank the weapon away from her the other weapon was thrusted toward his chest. The Saiyans only reaction was to lift his already injured arm into its path. He lifted his arm just in time for the sai to pass between the ulna and radius. The pain was intense but he just stared into the eyes of evil.

Blu and Mio watched Oukan go sailing away like some discarded toy. The kanji mage stared deadpan at his old friend from where he lay.
"Way to show up after the giant hellbeast left." Still, his tone made it clear that he was happy to see the saiyajin.

Blu wanted nothing more than to help Ayame to her feet (taking off that damned armor ran a close second), but at the moment, Trunks seemed to be having trouble living up to Blu's 'five minutes' prediction.
Sprinting toward his discarded robe, Blu rolled into a somersault. As he flipped into a crouch next to the garment, his hands darted inside. He spun toward the two combatants as he did this, and two slips of paper shot out of his hands like arrows, both aimed at the horned girl. Both ofuda contained the symbol 'blind.' Against a strong-willed opponent, the debilitation lasted only seconds, but that was enough to gain significant advantage. While he didn't expect both to connect (throwing two was more of an insurance policy), if such a lucky event did occur, the effect's duration would be doubled.
