"You know, while I was hoping you had some sort of plan, entombing me underground wasn't exactly what I had in mind. C'mon, the two of us are like best friends after this many years, aren't we?"
Dota glanced back over her shoulder at Blu with a hint of a smile.
"You seem to be just fine."
She brushed some strands of hair out of the way as her attention returned to Oukan.
"So, uh... now what?"
Dota closed her eyes in concentration once more, bringing back the blue glow between her palms.
"I don't know...Reason with him; negotiate with him...Better do something though, because I doubt you have much time."
Her hands twisted opposite of one another as she reinforced the imperfections in her crystal prison. At the top of the walls, the icy bars that had formed the cylinder thickened, closing off the prison completely. She left one opening, a small porthole of sorts, at about Oukan's head-level for Blu to interact with, if he so chose. If Blu didn't accomplish anything, Dota surmised Oukan would either melt her cage or send it shattering outward. Not a problem for her, but no one else ever seemed to appreciate her element.
"Don't get impaled by any ice."
She offered what she figured an obvious precaution to Blu, then added with a touch of sarcasm:
"Just looking out for my 'best friend'."

Before she could rip the blade free from Trunks' body, he landed a direct elbow to her face. It was enough to make her lose her grip on the blade before she went tumbling across the ground. The weapon shattered once freed from her hand. While this might have seemed like a fatal thing to happen with the blade currently embedded in the saiyan's side, the shards actually had no real substance to them. They flickered away before ever reaching the ground and left no damage internally. The weapon still remained in Trunks' side, however, but it had changed. Rather than being a single bladed sword, a three-pronged sai remained. It was much larger than a normal sai and the middle prong was longer than normal as well.
Some distance away, on the ground, Ayame was getting to her feet, rubbing her elbowed-cheek. The cut from the sword was already gone, but the blood it had drawn remained. It melted the skin it touched as though too hot for the surface to handle. Ayame noticed the change in her sword and the warped skin at about the same time. She gave a little "tch" as though the fun was over.
"Watching you turn your weapon on someone as dear to you as Ayame..."
She dug her fingers into the broken skin on her face, tearing it away.
"It was a beautiful thing."
In response, the rest of her body, wings included, lost its form and sloughed away, falling to the ground around a figure much different than Ayame. One hand trailed its fingers along the true face -- the other hand clutched the mate to the first sai.
"Too bad. I wanted to watch you hack away at that sweet little Ayame's figure."

Oukan was still held firmly in his icy prison. Only the ice surrounding his eyes began to melt making it look like the beast was crying. Only the rage in his eyes would tell otherwise.

Trunks pulled the sai from his side and threw it away from him. With the same hand he pulled the front of his breast plate up over his head and tossed it beside him. The rest of his armor followed suit and fell off. As he stepped out of the boots the blue bodysuit faded away revealing his black shirt and baggy pants.
Trunks ran his hand over his wounded side. The blood stopped flowing but it was only stopped by a thin scab. Trunks finished just about the same time as this girl finished tearing away at her Ayame shell.
"Too bad. I wanted to watch you hack away at that sweet little Ayame's figure."
“I knew it wasn’t her the second I saw that dark skin on your arm.”
Trunks while still keeping his eye on his new opponent began speaking to Blu.
“That armor will form to your body and there’s plenty of my blood for you to use. Save Ayame I’m going to take care of her.”
Trunks turned his full attention toward the new girl.
“I’d ask you your name but I doubt you’ll be around long enough for me to care.”
Trunks gripped his sword with both hands and began walking toward the girl slowly.

"I don't know...Reason with him; negotiate with him...Better do something though, because I doubt you have much time."
"Ah, yes, that should work wonderfully. 'Please calm down, mister berserk hellbeast who seems likely to be operating on almost pure instinct. Daddy loves you.' Maybe I could give him a hug after that and we can all go on a family picnic next week?"
Blu sighed--it wasn't like he really had any other option at the moment anyways. As he walked up to the opening Dota had left for him, he raised a hand. Dozens of blue glowing kanji formed a dome around the ice prison, and then sunk into it. They clung to Oukan's body, practically costuming him so that only his face was not obscured by the bright symbols. All of the kanji were identical--'calm.' Would it do anything? Who knows? But at least it felt better than just walking in and asking Oukan to make him a crispy kanji mage.
When he stood face-to-face with the restrained beast, he stopped, staring into his eyes. Well, here went nothing...
"Oukan, I don't know if you can even understand me, but you need to take control of yourself. I don't expect you to simply forgive your parents for what you think they've done. You can't just resolve your differences like that. But you also can't resolve them like this--you aren't going to change anything this way. You need to bury this demon that you've let grow inside you. You need to overcome your problems as Oukan, the man--not as some demon lord's pet."

Blu watched, intrigued, as their opponent revealed herself. As she tore off her disguise, she lost Ayame's beauty, but the new form that replaced it certainly wasn't a painful sight either. Trunks removed his armor as well, but of course Blu didn't really care nearly as much about that.
The girl didn't pay an ounce of attention to Blu as she and Trunks faced off. Every time the saiyajin was around, Blu ended up playing second fiddle. He really needed to find weaker friends.
“That armor will form to your body and there’s plenty of my blood for you to use. Save Ayame. I’m going to take care of her.”
Blu stared at the discarded armor. Without the blue bodysuit, it looked like it offered about as much cover as some of the things he'd seen Dota wearing--that is to say, not enough. Not to mention it would look really tacky over his robes.
"You know Trunks, you may be older now, but after our little treasure-hunting expedition, it really makes me not want to follow your suggestion of 'walk through the powerful magic fire barrier.'"
Still, it didn't seem like there was much else for him to do. This second fiddle thing was really starting to eat at him. He set down his ring weapon with a grumble, placing his cape and outer robes with it. That meant he wouldn't have access to his vials and ofuda for now--and if the saiyajin stepped on it and broke his vials again Blu would personally castrate him, friend or not. Lifting the pieces of Trunks' armor from the ground, Blu began to dress himself in it.

For how much he complained about the idea, Blu seemed to do just fine -- his words were meaningful and if anything, the kanji were a nice enough touch. For now, Dota kept herself concentrated on her ice...for Blu's sake.

"He puts on a show talking back, yet look at him obey you like a trained puppy."
The demon girl laughed a bit as the mage donned the armor. Blu had finally won her attention, but perhaps not exactly in the way he'd wanted it.
“I’d ask you your name but I doubt you’ll be around long enough for me to care.”
"Well you're right there. I don't have all day to play with you."
She glanced over to where her weapon lay discarded, then shifted her gaze to the advancing Trunks. Putting her palm in front of her face, the nameless demon girl's set her hand ablaze. Her fingers bent inward to form a fist and the fire grew brighter. With a twist of her wrist, her palm turned in Trunks' direction, sending several trails of fire in his direction at the propulsion of her fingers. The separate lines of fire spun amongst one another on their journey to the saiyan, tapering down to a concentrated, reinforced drill of spinning flame. This particular attack would pursue a fleeing target and home in on them.
The moment the fire had left her palm, the demon was already in motion, darting off to the side and leaping towards her missing weapon. She wouldn't take her attention off of Trunks, and the blade she did weild was ready to take action.

"Oukan, I don't know if you can even understand me, but you need to take control of yourself. I don't expect you to simply forgive your parents for what you think they've done. You need to bury this demon that you've let grow inside you. You need to overcome your problems as Oukan, the man--not as some demon lord's pet."
The words hit Oukan completely unexpected. The red glow of Oukan’s eyes faded as he shrunk down to original size. His extra set of arms retracted back into his sides. Oukan crawled out of the hole that was left for the demons head and ran over to Blu with tears rolling down his face.
“Uncle Blu help me. Inu is controlling me and I can’t stop myself from doing the evil things that I do. I know my parents love me and that they did the best for me, but I really can’t help it. Please help me stop this.”
Just as Oukan spoke his last word an explosion from the crevasse, that he had formed earlier, spread out into the sky. Oukan wrapped his trembling arms around his uncle.
“I know that’s him please help me. I don’t know what to do.”
The second it took for the fire to die down is the second it took for his nails to grow an inch long. The growth was silent and motionless. If Blu was as caring and loving as Oukan thought he was then Blu would have ten new holes in his back.

Trunks figured that the girl would be going after her fallen weapon the attack was just an added nuisance. As she dove for her sai, Trunks waited a split second for the beam to reach him. Right as it did the saiyan ducked and the beam passed over head. Immediately it began to come back. He knew it wasn’t going to stop until it hit something. Trunks made one leap that placed him on the other side of the demon girl. With any luck she would have to deal with her own attack before he would. In the mean time Trunks reached his hand out summoning his other weapon that was sticking out of the ground. The sword drifted through the air like it was still stuck in the ground. When it reached him he grabbed it with his left hand. With his two weapons he stood ready for the next thing that this girl could throw at him.
