Honorea listened to the woman speak, and grew slightly afraid. If she had magical powers, then it was best not to mess with her. She wasn't quite sure what to do next. She was in favor of helping the woman but was not sure she was willing to risk her life for something that seemed arbitrary. She looked at the others, but could not read their faces since she stood towards the rear of the group.
"I do not mean to sound rude, but besides the noble part of helping you, I do not see what our purpose would be. It seems the people who live here are quite content with the fair weather they have created and I fear I do not understand the task you have laid before us. As I stated, I am willing to help retrieve the harp, but curiosity compells me to ask, what would happen if we refused and went back with the rest of the townspeople?"

The woman's expression saddened as she listened to Honorea's reasoning.
"Perhaps I was wrong to ask, then. It seems that all humans view Nature as something that performs to their liking. All that varies are the lengths they will go to tamper with it."
Her head tilted slightly as she noticed that the one who had raised the objection did not seem to be human -- she said nothing about it, however.
"If you are not willing, I will send you back. It will be to your rooms so as not to attract too much attention. I fear that I may have caused you some trouble, as I also asked for assistance from the last outsiders to come here. The wrong people in Athemuesa heard rumor that they may have spoken to me through some magic...they never made it to the ship out. I do promise you that I've tried to cover my tracks better this time..."
She hesitated, as though expecting this information to not be taken well.

Rio stepped forward.
"Please don't take her comments as a no. You have to understand that things like this don't happen to us everyday.... well... they don't happen to me everyday. Tell us what we need to do. Controlling nature isn't something that should be left in the hands of men. We should return it to those that deserve it."

Mio was also placated for the time being.
"It sounds like we're all willing to hear you out. I don't intend to be as... unhesitating as Rio, but I have no reason to believe in the townsfolk over you, either. Tell us what it is you want, and we'll decide our course from there."
Her mood then shifted in a flash, like the glints of light on a tumbling crystal. While age had somewhat tempered that aspect of her personality, it had far from erased it.
"Anyways, whatever it is, it's gotta be more fun than wandering around a closed-off city, yeah?"

The gentle smile returned.
"You must travel through a cave that lies outside of the city. Within the deepest parts sits my harp. You will find this cave on no map, but the last of my powers should be enough to get you at least to the entrance. I fear that some measures have been taken to protect the stolen treasure, though I cannot say what may lay in wait. There may also be other treasure in there that is yours if you so desire -- My only desire is to be whole again."

The alchemist glanced around her companions. Rio was more than willing, Mio had been won over for the time being, and even Honorea seemed to be coming around to the idea.
Unaliari shrugged.
"Once we get your harp, you will return us from that cave, right? If so, I've no problem helping out."
The woman nodded once slowly.
"If you are ready, I will send those who wish to go."
She motioned off to her right, where a shallow puddle of water was shimmering on the ground. It didn't look to be very deep since there was a solid dock beneath it, and yet the bottom was not the dock at all.
"You may enter through here. Do be sure to hold your breath."

Honorea watched the old woman gesture to her left and point to a puddle in the ground. She was terrified of what lay on the other side, but determined to help the woman anyway. Everyone seemed eager to help as well, so she beckoned for the others to follow her as she stepped out towards the water.

Rio wasn't as hesitant as Honorea.
As soon as the way was clear he ran forward taking a deep breath along the way and jumped in.

Mio scowled as Rio rushed past Honorea and jumped into the puddle with all the relish of a boy running to his favorite swimming hole. It was, of course, abnormal to see him disappear completely through what should have been solid ground, but considering her upbringing, it was more of a curiosity than a concern. Mio commented to the elf as she walked up with her.
"Geez... he's like a little kid, isn't he? If it wasn't just some overzealous townsfolk we were up against, I'd actually be worried about him getting the lot of us into trouble. Ah well... nothing else to do but follow, right?"
With a nod to Honorea to ensure that she didn't mind letting Mio go first, the girl took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and stepped into the puddle after Rio.

Submerging into the pool of water led to a disorienting feeling -- what was once upward suddenly was overridden by the force of gravity, and the downward direction one had been going began to dwindle as the force of their jump in died down. Of course, if one had hopped in feet-first, then they would find that their head was pointing in the direction of the floor of a lake. It would take a moment to regain one's bearings, but the surface was easy to find by the sunlight that was on the other side of the water's surface.
Upon surfacing (or standing, as the pool was merely waist-deep at very best), it would become apparent that the pool of water was a portal to a different region of the island. The new pool of water was much larger and deeper. More importantly, it was far more natural, set within a forest, though this area was a rocky ravine that would have been hard to get down into no matter what direction a traveler had come from. The pool of water was fed by a small stream that flowed out of a cave that went back into the earth. The entrance was easily high enough for a grown human to stand, and some foliage hung from the top of the mouth (even this was easily cleared). Not much could be seen beyond the entrance of the cave from the outside.
