"I'm sure the squirt there will be more than enough to keep you busy."
Tch. The axe-bearer hadn't been paying attention to the robed man, as his focus had obviously been elsewhere. But that comment would warrant punishment. Unfortunately, he was gone before his face could be noted.
Instead, the figure's attention shifted to this "Trunks." That was a very familiar name, but looking at the stern face of the man who bore it, he seemed to have little resemblance to the Trunks that the figure knew. Then again, maybe there was some similarity...
Well, the best way to find out would be to test him. A pillar of fire erupted under Trunks' feet, engulfing his entire body in an inferno. The figure did not budge a muscle, blink an eye, or look in Trunks' direction. If this was that Trunks, certainly he would know the source of the attack.
If he survived... the figure thought in hindsight.

Trunks heard Blu but had no intention of moving. Just with the corner of his eye, the Saiyan prince checked out the robed figure with the enormous axe. A smile came to his face as a thought ran through his head. I want a fight not a massacre.
It was then that a pillar of fire erupted under his feet. Trunks looked down at the flames as if flowers had just bloomed beside him. Trunks closed his eyes and began to concentrate. The energy that flew around this place was immense, but he could trace who did it. After a couple of seconds the saiyans jaw dropped in amazement. The squirt did it.
The saiyan turned to face.... it. What was this thing? There's no way a female could hold an axe that heavy, but if he said that and it was a female she might get a little upset. Plus, it was wearing purple. Maybe it was a girl.
"Listen, why don't you put down that axe? I might have a dagger or something that would be a little more your size."

"I do hope you're familiar with some good healers, though."
"So far I only know one... and that was the girl the girl who you saved, but killing those men were unnecessary."
Rio looked over the robed man with the lash knife. A flashback of the statue in Mirina came to his mind.
"You know I'd swear you were Blu, a hero in my world, if you weren't such a dick."
Rio thought of pulling out his book, but he didn't want to reveal too much of his hand. Instead, he dug his feet into the ground getting ready to move.

It became obvious that Unaliari wasn’t going to find Silenus from this viewpoint. Her eyes narrowed as she finally turned her attention fully to her aggressor. With the next parry, she slid her dagger up the blade and caught the spear by the back of the head with her weapon, giving it a sharp tug forward to help propel herself back while yanking him forward. In one spin, she’d cleared the distance between them and sank the dagger into the man’s side between 2 ribs. With a twist and a pull, she ended his fighting spirit.
Unfortunate things had to come to that. Unaliari had not come to this plane looking for a fight, nor had she even entered the arena to join in the free for all. It looked as though she’d be forced to participate, though.
She kneeled to clean her dagger off in the grass. Her free hand snatched the spear as it fell beside her. With the dagger tucked away, she used the spear to straighten herself back up. She eyed up the three other participants who had gathered around. It was the pillar of fire that gave Unaliari the distraction she needed. While not specialized with the spear, Unaliari could still manage to swing the lengthy weapon effectively enough to dispatch the three around her. Once that was out of the way, Unaliari looked over to see what the fiery commotion had been about.

"Eh? Me, a hero? Hmm... I'll bet that would really make me popular with the ladies..."
He noticed the sour look on the boy's face. "What? You may not believe me, but I've done plenty of heroic things in my life. And anyways, I'm a prick, not a dick. You need to get your semantics right.
"Secondly, I only killed one of those three men, and if you payed any attention, you would have seen that that was accidental.
"Thirdly, you apparently know my name, so it's only right to share yours. You should be excited to meet a hero like me.
"Finally, after all this, even if you realize your mistake and apologize, I'm still here to have some fun, and I'm assuming it's the same for you. So my previous healer comment still stands."
At this point, Blu finally stopped running his mouth, confident that he had said his piece and was ready to fight.

The man was obviously not bothered in the slightest by enough fire to turn a normal man's bones to ash, so the figure abruptly cut the flame pillar. Perhaps this was that Trunks, as hard to believe as that was. He definitely warranted investigation.
"Listen, why don't you put down that axe? I might have a dagger or something that would be a little more your size."
At this comment, the figure's head suddenly twisted to stare directly at Trunks. A large, single, pink-irised eye glared out at him. If he could have seen any more through the shadow cast by the hood, he would have seen a furious vein pop out on the figure's forehead. Forget investigation. He would have to die.
Without warning, the axe-wielder streaked toward Trunks, clearing the space between them in only a second. It appeared that the figure was on a collision course with the saiyajin, but at the last instant, the only thing colliding with him was an empty purple robe. Behind him and to the opposite side as the robe, the huge gold-and-silver axe was descending from the air, directly at the top of his skull, in the hands of a furious-faced girl who looked like she couldn't be more than twelve years old.

Rio bowed to Blu.
"I do apologize, but not for the accusation. You shouldn't have killed anyone, nor put them in a situation where they might have been killed. For that I must avenge them. However, my name is Rioku Noritsugu and I am not the one who will be needing any healers."
Rio ran forward with his left blade diagonal in front of him and his right ready to swing at his side. He knew that the lash knife was a very versatile weapon in the hands of a skilled warrior which he assumed this man was.
When he got to Blu he tried to surprise him. Instead of swinging with his right he thrusted with his left blade towards the mans stomach. With the right blade he brought it in to defend against an attack.

Trunks side stepped the attack letting the blade crash into the ground. With his right foot he pushed down on the base of the axe head and held it there.
"Your anger needs to be controlled. I could sense your every movement."
Trunks finally turned his head to see his opponent. Again he was amazed at what he saw.
"What are you doing in a place like this? And secondly, who are you and how are you able to swing that thing around?"

The fiery distraction yielded a very curious situation. Unaliari watched as a pre-adolescent girl easily swung around a battle axe which happened to look insanely oversized for her. The alchemist shook her head with a slightly entertained smile.
What the hell is going on here?
It was then she saw Rio tangled within the barbaric confusion. It seemed as though he was already facing off with someone. It appeared to be the robed man from earlier at the portals, though she hadn’t gotten a clean look at him at the time.
Surely Rio didn’t come here to participate in this nonsense…
Still, Unaliari figured it was in her best interests to secure an ally for this rumble. A quick glance around the battlefield told her she better find that friend fast. Rio was the best candidate she had. She approached the battle cautiously, avoiding stepping the middle of other fights along the way.
Just as Rio made his move, a particularly cowardly figure tried to move in from the sidelines. Unaliari used the shaft of the spear to trip him. He fell beside Rio and Blu, but was of no consequence to their battle. With his surprise attack blown, the downed figure scrambled off. Unaliari, meanwhile, leaned on her spear and remained out of the way. She didn’t want to insult Rio’s ability by jumping in right away.

When Blu saw Rio heading towards him with twin katana, he anticipated some sort of feint--in his experience, that was a common tactic of those who carried two weapons. Instead of attempting to predict an attack and parry, he decided his best chances were in avoiding the possible paths of both weapons.
As soon as Rio entered striking range, Blu fell suddenly backward, curving his body so that he rolled onto his back. Rio's midsection-intended thrust cut only the air above him. The swordsman's momentum brought him over Blu's fallen form, and so the kanji mage planted his feet onto Rio's stomach and rolled into a backflip, launching the younger man into the air. Finishing his flip on his feet, Blu quickly launched his lashknife blade after the airborne Rio, hoping that he could not maneuver in the air (as too many of Blu's acquaintances could).
