A flame erupted in the palm of the hand of the saiyan prince.
"One....two....three"
Trunks launched his fire ball for the right side of rope that was holding up the mirror.

Blu counted down with the saiyajin.
"One.... two.... THREE!"
Aiming at the left-side ropes, Blu hurled his lashknife in the same maneuver that had found it lodged in the reflective tail before.

"One...two...three!"
A quick motion of her left hand (still bearing the wakizashi) and a flick of the wrist sent a closely grouped set of jagged ice spears flying up towards her center target.

The team attack proved to be too confusing for whatever lay in the mirror. The tail could not pick a target fast enough, resulting in the loss of all that was suspending the mirror. The mirror crashed to the floor, sending glass and shards of the broken frame flying in all directions. Most of the debris landed in the clearing, though there were still some pieces that shot beyond where the three stood.
As the ringing of shattered glass began to die down, a grey mist rose from a clustered group of mirror shards. It was blurred and disjointed, but clearly a creature was rising from the mirror. Grey fog trailed across the room from other shards to feed into the main cloud. Fog in the shape of clawed forelimbs pulled the rest of the body up from within the shards...the fog came out in sections, but bled together...once the body was completely out, the fog dispersed to reveal a solid, giant reptile. Not a snake this time...it might have been closer to a turtle armored with mirrored scales rather than a shell. It sat low to the ground and had a set of horns around its face (and only its face), much like its serpant partner.

It was never "break the mirror so that the beast inside can never escape" or "break the mirror so that the beast inside is destroyed forever." Oh no... always "break the mirror so that the beast inside is released to destroy you in a rather more painful manner than you would have experienced if you would have just died properly in the first place."
Blu glanced at his companions, seeing if they seemed to have any better plans than he did. Then he glanced back at Trunks, and his eyes widened in fear and recognition. Blu knew that look in the saiyajin's eyes. And he knew what a saiyajin did every time one got that look in his eyes.
Turning away from the mirrored beast, Blu grabbed Ayame by the arm, again giving her no time to protest. He ran back for the smoothly-beveled stone of the original room, not even bothering to go around the snake-hole, just lifting Ayame up by her shoulders and under her knees and jumping across.
He knew exactly what Trunks was going to do, and that didn't frighten him so much. But he had no idea what would happen when the saiyajin's attack met the reflective surface, and that DID frighten him. He didn't want to be anywhere close to that.

By this point, it shouldn't have been a surprise...yet somehow it still was. Ayame was too busy watching the creature emerging before them to notice Trunks. She found herself being abruptly yanked away yet again. Blu's swift attack was rather effective, as she could only find time to verbally protest.
"Hey...!"
But she was already in his arms and out of the cave room. She didn't want to leave Trunks behind and struggled to get out of his arms to head back.

Blu was right and smart to run. Trunks had had it with this temple and these beasts.
His eyes filled with the fires of hell meanwhile both hand beagan to glow red with the fire that surrounded them. With a couple of hand motions a ring a flames erupted around the mirrored beast.
Trunks growled words in a language one would only hear in hell.
Trunks lifted his hands and the ring shot up and created a dome of flames around the reptile like creature. The heat inside had to rivial that of the sun.
The flames in his eyes faded. Now it was his turn to run. He jumped back and headed for the sun room.

The Hellfire raged around the mirrored beast. It reared back on its hind legs and where the it made contact with the scales, the fire began to bounce off to scattered areas in the room. Falling back down to all fours, the beast swung its head and tail, ejecting more flames about the temple -- this time some flew into the main entrance. Rock was blasted from the floor. Rock rained down from the ceiling (though no openings to the outside were created). Eventually, all of the flames were reflected from the creature, leaving it alone in the cave room. It did not pursue the invaders, but stood ready in the center of the room, tail slowly swishing behind it.

As soon as he cleared the hole, Blu set Ayame down, before she kicked him in the face. As Trunks joined them, his anticipations became reality, and he took several more steps back to avoid the raining flames.
"Alright, fire's not an option."
Blu wracked his brain for ideas--something he was generally pretty good at--but he wasn't having any breakthroughs. He could only think of somehow using the scales against it, but how?
For now, there was one more thing he was willing to try. He turned to Ayame. "Maybe we will need you to do something that would make your mother proud. Can you freeze this thing? Like, completely--no projectiles, just drop its entire surrounding area to near absolute zero like your mother seems so fond of doing."
Blu had already noted that Ayame seemed not to rely on her ice powers at all, and that her skin, while slightly cool to the touch, never harmed him. He was unsure if this was within her power, but it didn't hurt to ask.

It was a bit irritating that he spoke casually of her and her mother as if he was on a personal level with them and understood her family and its history, but she tried not to let her expression reflect this -- this was neither the time nor the place to straighten things out.
"I can't do something like that... I only have basic manipulation of ice and whatever comes along for the ride in these."
She held up her katana and wakizashi, revealing two green orbs seated in the hilt of the larger sword, and one in the smaller.
